I am going to review this as a receiver only-- not the XM satellite radio service itself (which is excellent.)
This receiver fits nicely in my small car, without taking up a huge amount of dash space. I have found that installing it was fairly easy, and looks professional. I like the multiple color options for the back-glow on the receiver. It is easy to navigate and easy to operate.
Other receivers would be nicer-- but there is a price to pay. The XT does not offer three lines of display, unlike other receivers. This means that while you can see the artist and the song playing you can not see what album the song is from, nor what station you're listening to. In fact, you couldn't even see the artist, song, and station at the same time. I find this to be quite limiting. It didn't bother me until I experienced seeing all five lines of text available at once on another model.
It is a good receiver for one's first experience with XM. I think it's worth the price to invest in something with a little more options.
